Carlos Trillo Name was born in 1941 in Havana and migrated in 1954 with his parents to New York where he got, according to his own words, captured by abstract painting.

"When Trillo returned in 1961 to Cuba, abstract expressionism had just reached its peak. But what has been to many cuban artists an expression of rebellion, became for Trillo a medium which gets through his sensibility and tireless hands new and surprising shapes".
